The My Account page contains the account information you entered when you initially joined Skyword or joined a channel.
It is vital that you keep this information up to date in order to receive prompt payment for your work. If you are a US-based contributor, you must maintain a W9 tax form as well.
Updating your account information
- Sign in to Skyword360.
- From the Hello <Your Name> menu, select My Account.
- On the My Account page, click an Edit link to modify your entries.
- Name and location: Enter your real name and country of residency. Your account name is not automatically used as your contributor byline, which you use to publish your work. Your country is required for payment and tax purposes.
- Email address: Your email address serves as your user ID on the platform. Skyword also sends notifications to this address.
- Language: Select a language from those in which the platform is translated. The platform remembers your language preference and applies it every time you sign in to the platform. Note that content and other user-generated elements will appear in the language in which they were created.
Note: Separate from changing the UI language, you can configure your browser to display everything in a specific language. If your browser is set to a non-English language, Skyword360 will attempt to display pages in that language. Since the Platform does not support all languages, the display may not work properly.
- PayPal address: This is a required field. Skyword sends all payments via PayPal on behalf of participating channels.
- Tax information: If you are a US-based contributor, you must enter your name and mailing address for the W9 tax form.
- Profile Visibility: Show or hide your profile on the platform. See Profile Visibility for more information.
- Skyword News and Events: Receive or stop Skyword news emails. See Skyword News Email Subscription for more information.
- Time zone: Your assignment deadlines display in the time zone you select for your account in the Preferences section on the My Account page.
- On the edit page, make your changes then click Save.
Changing your password
- Sign in to Skyword360.
- From the Hello <Your Name> menu, select My Account.
- In the Account Security section of the My Account page, click the Change Password link.
- Enter a new password that meets the Skyword requirements.
- Cannot repeat any of the last three passwords.
- Contains at least 8 characters but no more than 30 characters.
- Contains both upper- and lower-case letters.
- Contains one or more numbers.
- Contains one or more special characters: ! @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) _ + = - `~ ,< . >/? ; :' " [ ] { } |\
- Cannot include spaces or tabs.
- Enter your current password.
- Click Save.
Deleting your account
Skyword adds new channels all the time and makes every attempt to recruit the right talent and find work for Skyword contributors. If you have not yet been recruited to create for a channel, you are likely to be a good match for one in the future! If you still want to delete your account, send an email to support@skyword.com with the name and email address you used to create an account on Skyword360. We would appreciate any feedback on ways that would help make Skyword360 the best place for content creators.
