Respond to Talent Requests
Channels can enable the Talent Request feature, which allows them to solicit bids for written and video content. You can respond to Talent Requests by creating bids. If a Talent Request is awarded to you, it will become an assignment.
When you are invited to submit a bid on a Talent Request, Skyword360 will send you an email notification. The email notification provides details and instructions explaining how to submit a bid on a Talent Request in the platform.
Creating and Submitting a Bid
After a channel opens a Talent Request for bidding, you can create a bid/proposal. You will be able to include a summary of your proposal and the estimated time it would take to submit your content. Some Talent Requests will ask you to set an expected rate for the the assignment.
1. Sign in to Skyword360.
2. Access available Talent Requests from your Dashboard, Channel Homepage and your Activity Feed. You will be able to see all bid submissions with their status and close dates.
a. Through your Activity Feed you can also view all of your Past Bids
b. You can turn off bid requests in your preferences while logged into your contributor dashboard. Go to “My Account” and view “Preferences” on the right hand side. All contributor accounts have bid requests enabled upon creation.
3. Click the View Request link to read the description and requirements.
b. If it is your first bid for a channel, you will get an overlay with Terms and Conditions that are being agreed to when submitting for a channel and agree before advancing to the “View Request” page.
4. The Talent Request page contains all of the information entered by the channel.
a. You will find deadlines, assignment summary, additional resource files and additional information about the bid.
b. You have the option to add a reminder for the bid while on this page. If you click the “Remind Me” button in the upper righthand corner, it will trigger a reminder email 48 hours prior to the deadline. It will also show on the Channel User View that you are an Interested Contributor.
5. When ready, click the Create Your Bid button to begin.
6. Complete the form with the details of your bid, including a summary, estimated days to complete first submission, and expected rate (if applicable).
Note: You will be able to set an expected rate if a predetermined rate was not set when the Talent Request was sent.
7. The discussion feature allows you to ask questions and receive answers from the Talent Request creator. Select “New Discussion” and fill out the topic and the discussion fields to create a new discussion. This is a private discussion between you and the Talent Request originator. You can/should submit a question through the discussion feature before submitting your bid.
8. When you have your finished bid, you can upload the file to the Bid File Upload field within the Talent Request and check off the agreement to uphold the bid.
9. Click the Submit Your Bid button.
10. The system notifies the Channel that your bid is available for review and you will be redirected to the review page of your bid.
What happens when you submit your bid?
You will be able to see that you have submitted your bid in your Activity Feed on the Contributor Dashboard
The Talent Request creator will review your bid and respond with one of the following:
- Accepted: You will receive an email that offers the bid to you and creates an assignment to move forward with.
- Return for revision: You will receive an email notifying you that the bid needs revisions and to resubmit.
- Declined Proposal: You will receive an email notifying you that your bid has been declined.
